Annals of the Keeper of the Bag

In the Accounts of Spring Grove Morris for the first year of 1977 is the following:

During the first year of the formation of the Spring Grove Morris Men the accounts amounted to the receipts from left overs of the Monday evening whip in the days when each man put in £1, had 2 pints, crisps & peanuts, and there was still some change left over.

Those receipts were duly recorded on bus tickets & other similar scraps of paper kept in the back pocket of the first treasurer's practice trousers.

Needless to say these details have been mislaid.

Signed: Richard Cragg

Thereafter the accounts proceed as normal.
